Amy Wicks on the 21st Street Pond
Former Ogden City Council member Amy Wicks was in office when the city entered into an agreement involving the 21st Street Pond.
Amy talks about what the council knew about the pond, when they found out about the agreement with Goode Ski Technologies, and why the arrangement raised questions about the balance of power between the mayor, city council and the public. She also discusses the city’s relationship with Goode, the condition of the pond today, and whether the terms of the agreement are actually being followed.
This is one chapter of One Ogden’s ongoing look at the history of the 21st Street Pond — from its creation and contamination to its eventual use as a private waterski facility.
We’re talking to people who were there, looking at the documents, and trying to understand how we got here.
